Walking around Munich day 3

Munich is a vibrant city and at night is makes for excellent walking, it is safe and there are always plenty of people about enjoying the nightlife with the many Beer gardens and restaurants. The Bavarian menu is a little strange and mainly consists of Pork & Pretzels, to give and example I ordered knuckle of pork and thats what I got just a small potato dumpling and gravy with it. Food prices are a little expensive however you are in a large affluent city so you will always get that, Beer is about 8 euros a Lt with a 1 euro tip given every time - don’t tip and they won’t come back ! There are many companies offering tours around the city from History tours of the third reich to beer tasting to general sight seeing.

Munich (/ˈmjuːnɪk/; German: München, pronounced [ˈmʏnçən] (13px-Speaker_Icon.svg listen),[2] Bavarian: Minga) the capital and largest city of the German state of Bavaria, on the River Isar north of the Bavarian Alps. Munich is the third largest city in Germany, after Berlin and Hamburg, with a population of around 1.47 million.[3]
The name of the city is derived from the
Old High German term Munichen, meaning "by the monks". It derives from the monks of the Benedictine order who ran a monastery at the place that was later to become the Old Town of Munich; hence the monk depicted on the city's coat of arms. Munich was first mentioned in 1158. From 1255 the city was seat of the Bavarian Dukes. Black and gold — the colours of the Holy Roman Empire — have been the city's official colours since the time of Ludwig the Bavarian, when it was an imperial residence

The City has excellent public transport and a car is of no use certainly inside the central area, you can catch trams buses and a subway system that is very efficient. Ticket machines have buttons to display in english and if there are two of you select partner this gives a total of 5 people 24 hours use on the public transport inside a certain zone. Inside the main central station you will find ticket assistants that spoke english and where very helpful, also there are luggage lockers to hold your stuff and this cost us 6 euro for a very large locker.
