Skiddaw - Skiddaw Little man & Latrigg Fell

I have wanted to climb this peak for some time and it’s number 4 in the top ten of the highest peaks in England. This time gail, Sam and darrel went to the top with us. The peak is about 930 metres high and we started from the small car park on gale road. The path starts nice then ramps up very steep as we head up Jenkins hill on a very good path. First summit we went up was skiddaw little man, itself a good height, however you still have a long way to go until you reach the top. From Derwent water you think you can see the summit but it sits back a Little way from view. I must say the paths are good but you need to be fit it’s bloody steep. In wainwright’s book he says a lot of people don’t appreciate the views from the top, I personally thought that they were stunning. We choose a different route down via skiddaw youth hostel and down the Cumbrian way back to the car park, at this point darrel and myself climbed at a hell of a pace to Lattigg fell that sits overlooking Derwent water - a grand mountain walk and most enjoyable
