Waddesdon Manor 19th November 2011

Christmas at Waddesdon manor. This house is probably the best national Trust property you can visit in the year, but at christmas they go to town and put up loads of lights in the house and gradens. The House is in the village of Waddesdon Buckinghamshire and was built in the period between 1874 - 1889 for Baron ferdinand de Rothschild. The style of the house is a french chateau and provides some great picture opportunities . The last Rothschild to own the property was James de Rothschild, he gave the property to the national trust in 1957 and it is now their second most paid entry property. The Christmas display started this year on the 17th November, if you are a member of the trust its free but to get in both the gardens and house will cost you about £15 per adult. I took a few pictures but the weather was very bright with no cloud so I only got a few good ones. The gardens are massive with plenty to see but watch out for the numerous gift shops that litter the place there is no escape and will hook you in, if you are not careful.
