We picked up the Aberglaslyn pass on a small bridge near the village of Nantmor North wales. The pass runs from Beddgelert down to Porthmadog and is one great walk off the beaten track for anybody to try. There are some rocks to climb over but the track is well looked after and you can't get lost. The point of our trip was to look around the village of Beddgelert and then return to our cottage on top of the hill near Nantmor, but you can include other walks onto this one with ease. The River Glaslyn runs through the pass and it flows at quite a rate, also there are large boulders in the river and this makes for some excellent white water.

Alongside the walk runs the Porthmadog & South Snowdon railway. and if you are lucky to get the times right one will pass you above on route. The line was constructed 1901 - 1906 . Once you get to the village Beddgelert has quite a few things to see including the Grave of Gelert and the old story that surrounds it. We visited the graveside and found the story very interesting. We took loads of photos please visit the trips & Holidays menu.
